About

Aekyaṃ

Education helps children in shaping their place in the world, and Aekyaṃ supports teachers in helping children experience that place as expansive, interconnected, and responsible.

Aekyaṃ considers teachers as facilitators of inquiry and offers them a framework to nurture a sense of interconnectedness among children from the foundational years. The educational resources are drawn thoughtfully from the Bhāratīya Knowledge System, where knowledge is always understood as integrated, relational, and interconnected. The resources are adapted in developmentally appropriate ways for young learners.

Aekyaṃ is not to be seen as an additional subject in the curriculum; it reshapes how existing learning experiences are framed, connected and explored.

Guiding Thought

पिण्ड ब्रह्माण्ड ऐक्यं सम्भूतम् । (Piṇḍa Brahmāṇḍa Aekyaṃ Sambhūtam)
The above Vedantic thought about the Individual and the World as one and unifying among the visible differences in society is the guiding principle for the development of the website.

In the Background

Aekyaṃ emerges from a careful engagement with the rich intellectual heritage of Bhāratīya Knowledge Systems. This work is carried forward by a small team of researchers who thoughtfully curate and contextualise these knowledge traditions into developmentally appropriate resources for contemporary education.
